Adding Google Tag Manager for ShowIt is actually really easy to do in just a few steps with this quick tutorial (video included)!
I recently created a dashboard for an amazing photographer but she built her site using ShowIt, a website builder I had never worked with before. We confirmed this method with their support team to ensure it was the best possible way to install Google Tag Manager to a ShowIt website.
In this video (and written tutorial) I am going to show you how I inserted the Google Tag Manager (GTM) code on her Showit site.
How to Add Google Tag Manager for ShowIt
-
- Open your Showit site on desktop and click on the big “Home” button on the top left side of your screen. This will open a secondary menu on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Click on advanced settings.
- Place the <head> GTM code under “Custom Head HTML”
- Place the the <body> GTM code under “Inline Javascript”
- Press Publish
THIS IS WHERE OTHER TUTORIALS WILL FAIL YOU: You have to repeat this process for EVERY page on your site.
Putting it just on the advanced settings of the homepage, makes it fire ONLY on the homepage. So be sure to repeat for every page you want GTM installed on.
